In Civil Transport Team of Japan AerospacernExploration Agency, researches to developrndesign technologies for advanced high-liftrndevices in the aerodynamics and aeroacousticsrnhave been conducted combining CFD and windrntunnel testing. A series of wind tunnel testingrnusing a realistic civil aircraft high-lift modelrnhave been conducted from 2005 to 2008. In thisrnpaper, several computational studies related tornthe wind tunnel tests for high-lift aerodynamicsrnare presented. Influence of the boundary layerrntransition with a transition prediction methodrnbased on eN method and semi-empiricalrnapproaches is evaluated. The influence ofrnbrackets to support the high-lift devices is alsorndiscussed and interference of disturbed wakesrnby the supports to the flows is shown. CFDrninvestigation of wind tunnel wall interferencesrnusing half-span testing model shows therninfluence of the boundary layer spacer to thernflow and the best height of the spacer.rnInvestigations of the interferences between thernnacelle-pylon and high-lift devices with nacellechinerneffect and setting effect of high-liftrndevices and their CFD predictions are alsornshown. The capability and research areasrnrequired for further efforts are discussed.
