摘要

Flame retarded upholstery and mattress ticking fabrics which are to meet opended-flame standards will require special flame retarding coating systems. the synthetics or synthetic containing fabrics will needed a coating system which will form a char matrix to protect the urethane foam from the opened-flame. If the FR fabric melts away from the flmae, the urethane foam will be expoed and is subject to ignition. A combination of bromine and phosphorus containing flame retarding chemicals can be formulated int oa coating system which will form a char matrix when exposed to a flame. The amount of FR coating required to meet a FR standard depends on the fiber content and construction of the fabrics.
