With the application of polymers for tribological purposes increasing and extending into more new areas, much research on the trbology of polmers and its application in various industries, has been made. The intention of this review is to present comprehensive information on entirely new phenomena which have been discovered and investigated in the past few years on the tribological properties of polymers and their applications. The progress in understanding of poymer tribology during the past decade is reviewed here under three headings: rubber tribology, plastics tribology, and tribology of polymer composites.
