摘要

The requirements for a tunnel boring machine (TBM) evolve over the course of a project. From planning to design tornconstruction, the criteria and requirements for the TBM become progressively more specific and detailed until therntunnel boring machine is delivered and launched. The Owner, Engineer, Contractor and Manufacturer all have thernability to weigh in on the TBM at different times along the project time line. Although the primary consideration forrnselection and design of the TBM is to handle the encountered ground conditions, there are other factors that influencernthe design and fabrication of the TBM.
