Nuclear security applications present numerousscenarios that are challenging for traditional modelingtechniques. Here, we present new results on three primaryissues: scintillation detector response, fission processmodeling, and correlated detector response modeling. TheMCNPX-PoliMi code, along with its post-processor MPPost was demonstrated capable of handling these challengesthrough direct comparison to experimental data. Lastly, thechallenge of photon based active interrogation was discussedas a unique challenge to traditional modeling tools.
