摘要

A minimally-invasive set-up was developed to measure blood oxygen saturations in bladder tissue by means of steady-state reflectance spectroscopy. Light delivery and collection is achieved via a fibre bundle small enough to be applied through a conventional cystoscope. For calculating oxygen saturations the spectral data is fitted to a mathematical model with a simulated annealing algorithm.rnThe system was tested using human blood of varying oxygenations and the spectral data evaluated using different fitting parameters in order to obtain an optimal algorithm. Calculation of blood oxygenation by use of a modified Kubelka-Munk theory yielded the best results of under 5% deviation to the reference values measured with a blood gas analyser.
