The experience gained from the use of FeltView indicates that it can provide the following benefits and improvements: 1. Finally the InfoPac system can provide felt comparisons in order that the best felts are selected for each location on the press section. 4. The Process: A stronger, flatter sheet entering the dryers will help reduce paper breaks. As more felt dewatering takes place in the nip, there should also be a longer period between felt wash-ups. Finally by reducing moisture streaks, there will also be a reduction in paper breaks in the dryer section and through size units and on-machine coaters. 5. Operations. The FeltView system provides clear process visibility of the press, the felts and as an indicator of downstream quality, giving operators a valuable tool to optimize the press section.
