Recrystallization Studies of Activation Energy for Al-Mg-Zr Alloys Produced by P/M

Aluminum alloys have been widely studied due to their good mechanical properties and recyclability during the last decade. In relation to ternary AI-XMg-YZr alloys, where X and Y are amounts in weight, with values for Y above the solid solubility as in liquid, it is verified that their physical-chemistries characteristics for recovery/recrystallization kinetics parameters still is one open field for researches. In this work studies of the activation energy for static recrystallization of two Al-Mg-Zr alloys (produced by P/M) were done by differential scanning calorimetry and samples of the same lots were observed by transmission electron microscopy to establish the correlation with microstructural changes in the thermal processing. The DSC analyses were made in SHIMADZU DSC50 and the transmission electron microscopy in JEOL JEM200C.
