If left unchecked, trends in healthcare will overwhelm our tax base. Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have the potential to improve quality of care and lower costs. They also have the potential to deliver new forms of care that will save money in the long term. The problem is that information technology projects are difficult to implement. This paper uses diabetes management as a case for the use of ICTs in chronic care. In this paper, the characteristics of specific areas of eHealth project management are explored, namely, project team and leadership selection, project resources and tracking.
