Mobile educational systems have started to emerge asrnpotential high quality educational environments thatrnsupport not only school/college/university education butrnalso life-long learning. The exponential growth ofrnwireless technology in recent years, increasingrnavailability of high bandwidth network infrastructures,rnadvances in mobile technologies and the popularity ofrnhandheld devices have opened up new accessibilityrnopportunities for formal education and life-long learning.rnThis keynote address will discuss various aspects of thernresearch that is aimed to exploit the benefits of location,rncontext, device and learner modeling, and combine themrnwith advanced mobile technology to achieve personalizedrndelivery of rich multimedia learning objects: anywherernand anytime; collaborative problem-solving in the contextrnof learners' surroundings, authentic problem-solvingrnthrough multiple forms of input; and appropriate use ofrnthese different media formats as part of problem-solvingrnfor rich learning experiences.
