An information system is not an information system unless it includes humans who arerninformed. Considering his infological equation, B?rje Langefors (1995) argued that thernpre-knowledge of those included in the information system is both a prerequisite for theirrnbeing able to interpret data and get informed and a crucial design factor when the data arernto be designed. Here, it is argued that another such factor is the emotional states of thernparticipants in a communication process. The possible consequences of such a view arerndiscussed.
