@@ House dust mites and their products are known to be the major household allergens to children and elderly to cause asthma and atopic dermatitis. In order to avoid these illnesses, removal of the allergens is highly desirable. Such chemicals as phenyl salicylate and benzyl benzoate have been used to control house dust mites. However, their miticidal efficacy is insufficient against predatory cheyletid mites which often cause biting damage to humans. There are therefore an urgent need for the development of a new effective miticide to effectively remove allergens and avoid biting damage by cheyletid mites in the house.
