Surface elastic wave is the main form that the damage signals propagating in plate structure health monitoring (SHM),and how to prevent those undesired signals (e.g.echoed signals from structure boundary and noise) is one of the most difficulty problems.For this reason,a new composites materials could be used as acoustic emission (AE) sensors are made and studied.The Orthotropic Piezoelectric Composite Materials (OPCM) sensor could avoid the interference of those undesired signals,and is adequate for receiving surface waves.The characteristics of the 1-1 OPCM sensor were researched in this work.
