Sixty-three year-old Japanese woman was referred to our hospital on April 17, 1997. She suffered from painful swelling on the dorsal aspect of the right hadn and fingers. The seelling appeared 4 weeks prior to the first visit, and sponaneous pain, tenderness, and local heat sensation were gradually progressed even with previous treatment including systemic anti-biotics and anti-allergic agents. She had a long history of asthma and her medications include 1-2mg/day betamethoasone.
