摘要

The paper examines the potential of using satellite remote sensing techniques to assess and map land cover in delta areas where both agriculture and tourism influence the landscape and the ecology of the area. For the above aim an investigation of SPOT 5 HRG and ENVISAT/MERIS multispectral data was carried out. Classification techniques have been performed to map land-cover, as well as vegetation indices algorithms were applied. Spectral data and indices were compared with soil map units and soil properties information. The results proof the ability of remote sensing data to assess the limits and the extension of the agriculture and urban areas as well as soil degradation and loss of wetland areas.
