In this letter, we design a novel kind of single-mode optical fiber, which has superior anti-bending performance and the same MFD as the common G.652D fibers, therefore, the novel single-mode optical fibers have good compatibility with the present optical fibers of constructed networks. The MFDs of the fiber are 9.13 micrometer at 1310 nm and 10.29 micrometer at 1550 nm wavelength. The bending losses of the novel fibers at the conditions of 7.5 mm bending-radius are respectively 0.046 dB at 1550 nm wavelength and 0.112dB at 1625 nm wavelength. The typical attenuation coefficients of the fibers are 0.295 dB/km at 1310nm, 0.276 dB/km at 1383nm, 0.176 dB/km at 1550nm, 0.187dB/km at 1625nm wavelength respectively. This novel kind of optical fibers presents high compatibility with the superior bending-loss insensitive characteristics, which will make good influences on the high-capacity high-rate optical networks.
