Microgravity exposure for long periods of time leads tornbody deconditioning and it increases the risk of experiencingrnlife-threatening arrhythmias. The study of ventricularrnrepolarization dependence on heart rate has beenrnused to stratify patients according to their arrhythmic risk.rnThe QT_p adaptation to HR changes is characterized byrnM_(90) (90% of the adaptation). The QT_p=HR, after compensationrnfor the adaptation lag, is modeled using a set ofrnregression functions (a, kind of slope of relationship).rnSubjects with lower orthostatic tolerance time showed arnnon significant decrease in the adaptation lag (M90 fromrn148 to 108 beats), which may be due to an extra deconditioningrnin the sympathovagal response. Nevertheless anrnincrease in the QT_p=HR adaptation lag (M90 from 108 torn117 beats with a p = 0.06) and a significant reduction inrnthe slope (a from 0.53 to 0.35 with a p < 0.005), which inrnprevious studies have been correlated with an increasedrnarrhytimic risk, were observed for subjects with higherrnorthostatic tolerance time.
