摘要

This paper introduces a new method of detecting the critical load at the crack initiation with strain gage. The unloading effect caused by growth of mode I crack is analysized. The unloading boudary equation is conducted. Li's model which is based on theoretical analysis is established, and a test method of detecting the initiation of crack growth with strain gage is put forward. The correctness and feasibility of the method are proved by testing seven kinds of materials and hundreds of specimens. Especially, the initiation of s urface crack is successfully detected with the method, so that a difficult experiment problem in fracture mechanics is solved.
