The experimental program described in this paper will address the head rotation deficiency which was first sited during the flight and ground evaluation of the A/P23P-14A(V)2,3,4 TACAIR Conversion Chemical Biological & Radiological (CBR) Protective System in 1995. Decreased head rotation and head mobility in the three dimensional (xyz) plane is a critical limitation for fixed wing aircrew, because the ability of Navy pilots to visually identify and track missiles is degraded and their field of regard is reduced.
