The ~(85)Kr grain boundary inventory (GBI) was measured for ten CANDU~R power reactor fuel rods, with peak linear power ratings between 26 and 58 kW/m. Samples were cut from central, mid-radial and peripheral locations in the fuel pellets. Peripheral GBI values were less than 5%, while the GBI of most central samples was less than 50% of the ~(85)Kr remaining in the sample, giving volume-average GBI values in the range 1% to 9%. The results will be used in validation of fission product distribution models in steady state and transient fuel performance codes.
