Application Evaluation Of Gas Saturation Model for the Deep Igneous Formation in Xu Jia Wei Zi Block

On the basis of the characteristics of the deep igneous formation in Xu Jia Wei Zi block, full-diameter core experiments under simulative formation conditions were done to find out the relationship between the lithologic and electrical properties. It's proved that Archie saturation equation is applicable when the porosity is more than 10 p.u., whereas it doesn't suit when the porosity is below 10 p.u.. By analysis of the laboratory data, the optimum Sw-I relationship is determined and a gas saturation model for the deep igneous formation in Xu Jia Wei Zi block is set up. Compared with corresponding laboratory core analysis data, the mean absolute error of the gas saturation determined by the model for two sealing core drilled wells is less than 10%. A chart for fluid identification is formed based on above-mentioned experiments and its application in reinterpretation of the twenty-seven exploratory wells, aiming at the deep formation of Xu Jia Wei Zi block for the past two years, gets a favorable result.
