In the paper, we investigate the techniques of fault intelligent diagnosis using the models based on structure and behavior. The structure representation lists all the components and their interactions within the modeled system. The behavior representation describes the correct behavior pattern for each component. If the operation of the model does not agree with observations from the real system during a particular mode of operation, then a discrepancy has occurred and a diagnosis must be performed to find the defective components. Finally, their applications in steady-state system were given.
