摘要

Peripheral milling of thin-walled workpieces is studied. The end mill and workpiece structure are modeled by finite element (FE) method to study the cutting deformation. A parametric 3D FE model of end mill is established to evaluate the cutting forces, elastic deflections as well as to analyze the influence of cutter parameters and cutting conditions. To predict static form errors on the machined surface of the workpiece, instantaneous rigid force model is adopted in the developed numerical simulation system. Examples will illustrative the validity of the approach.
