摘要

1. The main conclusion of this study is that the control of vibrations of civil engineering structures has reached an important degree of maturity. These assert relies on: there is a huge number of papers published both in scientific journals and in conferences proceedings, several journals devoted to this field exist, a number of international and local associations have been created, two international conferences (WCSC and ECSC) are organised regularly (every 4 years) with a growing number of attendants, some workshops are celebrated (like this one) and many constructions all over the world incorporate control devices.
