摘要

The study of wear behavior of the MMC against EN-24 steel under the combined action of 90% rolling and 10% sliding forces is unique in nature. The investigation is carried out to understand the effect of cold deformation on wear behaviour and its possible use in high performance gear application. The whole investigation is quite different in nature and a few of such works are reported in literature. So, little scope was there to compare the finding with available literature. Moreover, rolling-sliding experiments consume good amount of materials, so producing deformed MMC sample of good quantity is also a challenge. The investigation has demonstrated improved wear properties in materials due to cold deformation. Probably in next paper, metallurgical properties change will be discussed for throwing some light on this issue.
