We are developing a high-repetition and high-average-power Nd:YAG laser amplifier pumped by fiber coupled LDs for laser machining of CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic). The amplifier consists of several Nd:YAG ceramic thin discs on a non-doped ceramic YAG block. We performed amplification test. As a result, we obtained 404W output power at 2.8kW pump power and 164W input power. Next, we prepared an improved integrated amplifier in order to achieve higher cooling of the gain media. We tested an amplification property and cooling property.
