摘要

The Osage UIC Program was developed to address and regulate injection wells in Osage County, Oklahoma. It was initiated to protect the environment according to the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) but was tailored to allow operators to continue using injection wells with a minimum amount of additional compliance with the new law. This meant that costly repairs or modifications to the wells were avoided in most cases. In addition, various methods have been developed to further fulfill the regulatory requirements with cost savings in mind.
