This paper examines the glass cladding response caused by wind loading and introduces a reliablerndamage accumulation analysis. The primary focus is the effect of the non-Gaussian nature of wind pressurernfluctuations. The damage is estimated using the Monte Carlo methodology and Brown’s integral formulation, rnwhich requires the knowledge of stress time histories. The stress field in the glass is calculated using the vonrnKármán plate model. A sensitivity analysis of the main pressure characteristics is performed, evaluating theirrneffects on the damage statistical moments up to the fourth order and on the shape of the damage probabilityrndensity function. Highlighted throughout the paper is a comparison between the results obtained assuming thernGaussian and the non-Gaussian model for the wind pressure fluctuations.
