摘要

The use of tools for design and simulations in the process of development and technical preparation of production is characteristic of the current industrial practice. This factor requires professional skills of staff that must be acquired during the preparation at technical schools of all levels. The submitted text presents results of research concerning skills in the use of engineering-information technologies by engineering students of secondary schools and colleges in relation to the requirements of practice. The research was based on a qualitative analysis of 2D and 3D data of students' projects of virtual prototypes and relevant projects carried out in industry. Emphasis was put in particular on workflows with tools for design by the use of general knowledge of engineering issues. The issue is a part of a systematic approach to the teaching of vocational technical, engineering-oriented subjects.
