摘要

Roll drafting is a fundamental unit operation attenuating the linear density of the bundle suitable to the end product. However, this operation can bring out linear density irregularity that reduces the consecutive processes efficiency and the product quality. This study aims at constructing the fiber bundle dynamics during roll drafting based on the general physical laws and simulates behavior of the bundle thickness from theoretical model. The model parameters are given from experimental adjustment. Especially, the availability of the model is tested in the steady state. Even a slight disturbance of the process conditions of fiber bundle changes the linear density of the output fiber bundle. The simulation result confirms the fluctuation of the linear density of the output bundle. For analyzing the draft dynamics, Describing Function method is applied. The theoretical model can be supposed to explain the dynamics of the fiber bundle during roll drafting so good as the reality and, thus, the mechanism of the irregularity of the fiber bundle thickness as well.
