At moderate and high supersaturations, the kinks generated by detachment of molecules from a straight singular step, mutually annihilate. Therefore, generation of kinks by attachment of molecules from the surrounding and making molecular pairs-one-dimensional nuclei-is important. Such 1D nucleation rate is considered. The step rate via the 1D nucleation and the kink propagation rates is expressed analytically for a step declined, on average, from singular orientation. The resulting azimuthal anisotropy of the step rate within the face is expressed via kinetic rather than via standard thermodynamic parameters.
