摘要

We report a series of microfluidic shear devices for studying cell adhesion on biological substrates. The method provides a tool for performing high throughput experiments with small amounts of sample and number of cells. Furthermore, it allows access to regimes of large adhesion strength that are difficult for conventional cell adhesion assays. We also demonstrate long-term cell culturing and experiments with medium perfusion in such microfluidic devices. These microfluidic devices could provide useful insight for tissue engineering and cell mechanotransduction studies.
