Abstract: tions such as dimensional inspection,positioning and tracking of objects, and reverseengineering require highly accurate measurementsystems. A vision-based coordinate measurement system(VCM) developed at the National Research Council ofCanada, targeted for these applications, will bedescribed. In order for a vision system to beconsidered for such applications, its performance anddesign parameters must be well understood. Therefore, aperformance evaluation procedure and accuracy analysis,along with test results, will also be presented.!41
