摘要

1 IntroductionJinghong hydropower station with power installation of 1500MW is one of power stations on theLancang River in China. There are three layers of reinforcing bars at the bottom of the penstockin this station. Reinforcing bars are so dense that ordinary concrete cannot compactly fill up thespace. At this condition, self-compacting concrete (SCC), a kind of high performance concrete,with good workability is suitable. Without any vibration, SCC can automatically fill up thenarrow space and place with dense reinforced bars by deadweight. The design technique indexesof SCC in Jinghong hydropower station are shown in Table 1. Experimental investigation onSCC used around the penstock of Jinghong hydropower station was done.
