摘要

In this paper a simple model of high speed rolling chain drives employed in internal combustion engines for driving the camshafts and injection pumps is presented. The efficiency of the chain drive is affected by the longitudinal vibrations experienced by the chain, which causes power loss. The lateral vibrations are restricted by the tension guides. The evaluation of the dynamical behaviour of the chain appears a key activity during the engine design. In order to analyse this behaviour, some calculations are presented in the frequency domain. The results are compared to some experimental data taken from an engine test.
