The main method of petroleum prospecting is seismic prospecting; Seismic source is key technique problem of open country data collection in seismic prospecting. Based on gather power explosive theory in explosive dynamics, this article studied the principle of gather power seismic source and designed the configuration of seismic source, we also precedes mathematical simulation and correlative experiments. The results have shown that gather power seismic source with higher main frequency can emit higher energy seismic wave, So it is a kind of highly S - Y ratio (S-signal-yawp) seismic source which can promote distinguishability and suited to many cases.
