摘要

Outcrop exposures of sandstone and conglomerate facies of the Cadotte Member of the Boulder Creek Formation at both Dokie Ridge and Commotion Creek, Northeast British Columbia Front Ranges, provide an analogue for hydrocarbon reservoirs in the subsurface of Northwest Alberta and Northeast British Columbia.; The vertical and lateral continuity of the various lithologic and sedimentologic units at both outcrop sites, allows for the establishment of a distinct Cadotte facies succession. When integrated, the individual facies support a coarse grained, high-energy, storm dominated shoreface environment of deposition.; Measuring the dips of individual shoreface wedges, observable in outcrop along large-scale parting planes, allows for the geometric characterization of various shoreface subzones. These wedges also provide evidence of a shoreline ranging in orientation between east to west and northwest to southeast.
