The general problem was to evaluate the sport education programs in selected boys' high schools in the Republic of Korea. A modified version of N. P. Neilson score card for evaluating boys' high school physical education programs used for the evaluation instrument. The sample consisted of 40 boys' high schools in the Republic of Korea. However, only 20 schools were included in the study because 17 schools did not return the score cards and three schools returned score cards that were incomplete.;The original boys' high school score card was published in 1931, by N. P. Neilson. In subsequent years, it was updated and in 1997, the score card was revised by the researcher and R.O.K. experts for use in Korea. This present revision includes changes made necessary by differences found in R.O.K. Sport Education. Studies of sport education programs are relatively new in modern development and even more so in the R.O.K. than in the United States. To conduct the evaluative and status-type survey, it was necessary to acquire the approval of the Sport Education Directors from the participating the boys' high schools. In compliance with this procedure, a letter was sent to these officials from the researcher, requesting approval the evaluation.;After receiving approval, conferences were arranged with the high school sport education directors or school principal to acquire their cooperation. During these conferences, the purpose of the evaluation and the techniques used were explained. The researcher made appointments with each sport education director or school principal in each boy's high school. During the meeting, the score card was explained in detail, so that each sport education director or principal could evaluate the sport education program and the interpretation of the score card was rather consistent. A questionnaire was included to collect certain score card information, which was difficult to obtain in the score card. A copy of the questionnaire was distributed to the sport education director or school principal to each sport education teacher who taught.;The points recorded were compared with the points possible and percentages were computed for each item of the score card and for the overall score for each boys' high school. Five areas of evaluation in the study were instructional staff, facilities, program (organization), program (activities), and professional assistance.;The results indicated the overall instructional staff scores ranged from poor to average. Overall facilities scores ranged from poor to average. Overall program (organization) scores ranged from poor to good. Overall program (activities) scores were all poor. The overall professional assistance scores ranged from poor to average. Based on the results, general and specific recommendations were made.
