The optimization of the exploitation of the assets is the first concern of the maintenance services managers. The choice of the strategy of maintenance is a key factor in the optimization of the yield and the reliability of the equipments, which depends inevitably on the tools used and the information collected in order to make relevant and economically profitable decisions.;Based on the synthesis of the existing strategies of maintenance and the technological advance of remote maintenance. in the field of the management of distribution networks, an analysis will be carried out on the circuit breaker as an example of automated equipments of medium voltage overhead power distribution network.;An analysis of the principal failures modes of the recloser will be carried out in details with an aim to identify the principal parameters to be continuously monitored and which are likely to determine the operating conditions of the equipment, according to the data recorded in time. The analysis of that data will allow elaborating a strategy for a conditioned base maintenance and providing the failures that may occur before their appearance in order to optimize the operation of the recloser and prolonged its life cycle.;Various studies are leaning on the necessity. of a continuous monitoring of the automated equipment in order to improve the yield of the distribution networks and to facilitate the preventive maintenance.;This memory relates to the determination of the needs for the development of a maintenance strategy for automated equipments of medium voltage overhead power distribution network, to analyze the relevant parameters to consider for' equipment in order to make of it an effective use in the development of the procedures and methods of work.;The purpose of the project is to provide a detailed study in the form of an FMECA, the consultation of experts of the field and the acquisition of operating data of the distribution network have allowed the quantification of the various parameters and to lead to more concrete and more significant results reflecting reality as lived by the industry of the medium voltage overhead power distribution network.;The distribution network of Hydro-Quebec is one of the wide-area networks in the world, technologies and the techniques of exploitation used are one of the advanced in the field, the data collected are very significant and constitutes a reference of size for the industry of the medium voltage overhead power distribution network.;Following the study and the analysis of the FMECA, the analysis of the risk, parameters and components of the recloser were selected in order of a continuous monitoring for each mode of failure, this choice was justified by an analysis of cost benefit which showed the economies recorded by monitoring that parameters.;At the end, an example of application was presented, following the difficulties encountered for the realization of an experimental application on a recloser installed on the network. Such an experiment would have been possible with the company Cooper Power system which holds the solution of the visual asset monitoring as well as the solution of Hydro-Quebec production, the continuous monitoring system (SSC) which was tested on equipment of production.
