摘要

The topic of the study is the interrelationship between supply chain management and quality assurance management. The literature review has noted the vast research conducted and benchmarked upon the automotive industry. The purpose of this qualitative study was to examine and compare the outcomes of a non-automotive manufacturing company using a non-QMS (quality management system) certified supplier and a QMS certified supplier. A qualitative methods research design in the form of a case study was explored to identify significant elements that affect a North American company's (customer) tactical and strategic operational performance based on their supply chain management and, more specifically, their supplier's QMS. The study compared the responses of the questionnaire from executive management, quality assurance managers, and quality assurance representatives with input and output factors. The researcher developed coding of the data collected based on the research questions and the QMS utilized by the participants.
