Dome A, the highest ice divide in the East Antarctic Ice Sheet, is considered a likely place for gaining understanding of the evolution of the Antarctic Ice Sheet and finding an ice core with climate records reaching back one million years. For this study we collected the information derived from the results of glaciology research at Dome A, and coupled them with the information on finding the oldest ice core in documents from the International Partnerships in Ice Core Sciences. Consequently, the meteorology, landform, ice thickness, subglacial topography, ice velocity, internal structure and other environmental information at Dome A, are summarized. In addition, the new glaciological progress and the future development of deep-ice-core drilling plan in the Dome A area are discussed.%目前,在东南极冰盖分冰岭中心的冰穹A( Dome Argus,又称Dome A)开展冰川学及深冰芯研究已成为深入探讨南极冰盖演化和找寻地球最古老冰芯气候记录的热点.
