In light of the practical problems of the sites based on Windows system,which are used in modern distance education project in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region for rural Party members and cadres,we put forward the thought of the solution that various functions of the distance education will be realised using Linux and open source software.Our research realises the support system of modern distance education using Kunlun Linux with the functions including the support of satellite data broadcasting receiving ,resource management and service system,minority languages supporting,the satellite automatic update,one-button automatic installation and recovery and so on.%针对新疆维吾尔自治区农村党员干部现代远程教育工程中基于Windows系统站点的实际问题，提出通过Linux及开源软件实现远程教育各项功能的解决思路。研究实现了支持卫星数据广播接收、资源管理与服务系统、少数民族语言、卫星自动升级、一键式全自动安装与恢复等功能的昆仑Linux现代远程教育支撑系统。
