In this paper we present the definition of blackboard function. Based on the analysis of characteristics of＂mechanical layout＂,the research on concrete requests, implementation thinking and architecture framework of blackboard function are given. Utilizing Visual C++6.0,we draw up a practicable blackboard function module.%提出了CAI软件中黑板功能的概念，在分析课程特点的基础上对《机械设计》课程CAI软件中黑板功能的具体要求、实现思路和结构框架进行了研究，并利用VisualC++6.0编制了一个可行的黑板功能模块.
