Dong is one of the ethnic groups in the southwest of China.The shaping,growing and developing of Dong settlements is the result of historical,environmental and cultural selections. From the history of this process,we could see the living way influences the space of Dong settlements,which,radically,is the decision of the local community.Although not all the causes of the change of Dong settlements are discussed,the consciousness and determination of the community is seen as the clue.The settlements are owned and used by the community,which means it is the community who should decide how the change goes,while the professors should play the roles of interpreters.%侗族是我国西南众多少数民族之一,与其他民族的发展历程相似,其聚落的形成、生长与变化是历史、环境与文化的选择。本文通过对侗族聚落空间形态发展历程的梳理,考察生产、生活方式对聚落的影响,这种影响从根本上说是当地居民自主选择的结果。文章虽未能涵盖侗族聚落发展因素的全部,但试图以侗民的自觉作为线索来阐释聚落与住宅空间形态变化的脉络。社区居民对聚落的所有权决定了他们对聚落发展应有的话语权,专业学者在其中应扮演引导者与文化阐释者的角色。
