The characteristics and product structures of homopolymerization of propylene oxide with {Fe|}{(acac)-3|Al( i |Bu)-3} catalyst are presented and discussed. The polymer was characterized by {}+{13}C|NMR showing good stereospecificity.The polymer is a product of high alternation. The homoplymerization can be carried out in aromatic hydrocarbons and alkanes. The yield is higher in aromatic hydrocarbons than that in other solvents. The reaction kinetics was studied with catalyst of Al/Fe molar ratio 4~7. The results indicate that apparent rate of homoplymerization reaction is first order with respect to monomer concentration, and the energy of activation equals 158.1 kJ/mol.
