The 623℃ reheat steam temperature will be adopted for two 660-MW ultra-supercritical units in phase Ⅱ of a power plant project. This is the first case for type Ⅱ boilers in the world. The operation of the 660-MW ultra-supercritical units with 603 ℃ reheat steam temperature is introduced, and then the design of elevating the reheat steam temperature up to 623℃ is presented. Further, related economic analysis is conducted and security measures are proposed.
