Specialized English course for applied chemistry is one of the compulsory courses for students majoring in applied chemistry of engineering colleges, the development of which has a positive effect on the cultivation of innovative talents. To break through the limitation of its traditional teaching model, we attempted to introduce PBL ( Problem-based Learning) method into its teaching system. As a result, the PBL method stimulated students’ interest in learning, improved the students’ comprehensive English ability, and promoted the cultivation of innovative talents majoring in applied chemistry. It was proved that the introduction of this method in teaching of specialized English for applied chemistry was feasible and laid the foundation for its further teaching reform.%应用化学专业英语是工科院校面向应用化学专业学生开设的一门必修课,该课程对培养创新型人才具有促进作用。为突破专业英语传统教学模式的局限性,现将PBL ( Problem-based Learning)教学法引入该课程的教学体系。结果表明PBL教学法激发了学生的学习兴趣、提高了学生的英语综合能力,促进了创新型应用化学专业人才的培养,在应用化学专业英语的教学中具有可行性,并为该专业英语课程的进一步教学改革奠定了基础。
