Considering the contributing factors of the belt-overturn length of belt conveyors, the paper puts forward the deformation-based determination method for belt-overturn length.First, the influencing factors of belt deformation of the off-road belt conveyor are analyzed including the belt overturning, working tension and self-weight, etc., with correspond-ing calculation formula deduced.Considering the requirement that overturning belt shall meet allowable strain condition, and the sag shall meet certain sag condition, the formula for length of overturning section is further deduced.With the con-veying belt of steel cable core as an example, the selection scope of calculation values is also put forward in the paper.% 围绕带式输送机翻带长度的影响因素，提出了一种基于形变的翻带长度确定方法。首先分析越野带式输送机翻转处输送带的变形影响因素：输送带翻转、工作张力、自重等，推导出相应的计算公式，按翻转段输送带需同时满足许用应变条件，下垂量又必须满足垂度条件进一步推导得出翻转段长度计算公式，以钢丝绳芯输送带为例，给出计算值的选择范围。
