Objective To investigate the mental health status of doctors in comprehensive hospital, and the mental health differences between male and female doctors. Methods 765 male and 451 female doctors in 2 general hospitals were investigated by Symptom Checklist 90 ( SCL -90) , and gender differences were compared. Results Female doctors showed higher scores than male doctors in SCL - 90 total scores and factors of somatiza-tion, anxiety, depression, hostility, interpersonal sensitivity (P<0. 05). Significant gender differences of SCL -90 total scores were observed in junior and medium professional titles doctors, but not in senior ones. Conclusion Compared with male doctors, female doctors in comprehensive hospital manifests poorer mental health status, which may be caused by cognitive differences in gender roles.%目的 了解综合性医院医师心理健康状况,并探讨其心理健康状况的性别差异.方法 采用症状自评量表(SCL-90)对2所医院765名男医师及451名女医师的心理健康状况进行测定,比较其性别差异.结果 女医师的SCL-90总分及躯体化、焦虑、抑郁、敌对、人际关系敏感5个因子上的得分明显高于男医师；男/女医师SCL-90总分的差异在初级和中级职称中显著,在高级职称人群中不显著.结论 综合性医院女医师的心理健康状况较男医师差,可能与其对性别角色的认知差异有关.
