With the support of ArcGIS10.3 and Fragstats 4.2 and by using the 2nd-class inventory data of forest resources,this paper analyzes the forest landscape patterns and characteristics of Huo shan county in Dabie mountains through a variety of landscape indexes,class level and landscape level. The results show that the overall landscape is dominated by forest land,which accounted for 73.549% of the total area. The natural broad-leaved forest, coniferous forest, artificial coniferous forest, artificial broad-leaved forest and bamboo plantation took higher proportion in forestland. So, they are main landscape types concentrated in space distribution and played the dominant role in this region. The forest landscape diversity, heterogeneity and structure are complex and various so as to conducive to the maintenance of biological diversity and the function of ecosystem, but under the influence of human activities, the forest landscape has a trend to becoming fragmentation and to be disadvantage of improving the site conditions and increasing the stand quality.%利用森林资源二类调查数据，在ArcGIS10.3和Fragstats4.2支持下，从斑块类型和景观镶嵌体两级水平上选取多种指数对大别山区霍山县森林景观的格局和特征进行分析。结果显示：有林地景观类型占总面积的73.549%，是最主要的土地利用类型。有林地中的天然阔叶林、天然针叶林、人工针叶林、人工阔叶林和人工竹林所占比重较高，景观空间分布呈现集中连片，是起支配作用的主要景观；全区森林景观多样性丰富，景观异质性较强，结构较为复杂，有利于维护区域生物多样性和发挥森林生态系统功能，维系生态平衡，改善生态环境；但受人类活动的干扰，林地景观破碎化，不利于改善立地条件与提高林分质量。
